The 36th International Fairs of Fashion, Footwear, and Leather STYL and KABO took place again over three days between August 24 and 26, 2010. They became the biggest B2B presentation of the fashion industry and an important contracting event for the season spring/summer 2011 on the Czech, as well as Central European market. |

 Upcoming season S/S 2011 will bring light and colours in the streets. Very trendy will be natural looking leather with prints imitating the texture of animal hides. In combination with vibrant colours - especially red, pink and orange - and floral patterns it'll be one of the leading materials.

You would hardly find some other type of goods that causes more confusion when it comes to sizing. It is bad for the business because internet retail of shoes is limited but it is the consumers’ health that is also at risk. After decades of arguments the biggest producers of footwear are now aiming towards an agreement that should mitigate at least the greatest disproportions. A working group focusing on the setting up of an ISO standard for shoe sizing held a meeting at the KABO fair, and the Dean of the Technological Faculty of Tomas Bata University Zlín, Petr Hlaváček, informed about its outcomes. |

Entrepreneurs of the leather, footwear and leather goods sector have voiced their reservations about the possible modification of customs duties proposed by the Colombian government to combat the rise of the local currency, the Colombian peso, in terms of the US dollar. The fear is that the proposed changes could open the door to cheap imports of shoes and leather goods from China and other Asian countries. |

 The GDS special zone Design Attack will be presenting itself once again as a trendy platform for creative, young designers from 10 to 12 September 2010. 100 selected newcomers in Hall 3 will be causing a stir amongst the international trade audience when they present their trendy collections and products for Summer 2011. Featured here will be independent fashion plus urban and streetwear as well as accessories and other trendy lifestyle products. The 13th edition of Design Attack brings the jungle to Düsseldorf. The new theme Rumble in the Jungle is a reference to the World Cup in South Africa and the legendary 1974 heavyweight boxing match between Mohammed Ali and George Foreman known as “Rumble in the Jungle”.
