Jack Wolfskin's new winter models

ImageBuilding on last winter’s successful market launch of their waterproof BIGFOOT sole winter boots and lightweight hiking footwear incorporating a TEXAPORE O3 membrane and X-STATIC lining,  JACK WOLFSKIN neatly rounds off their winter footwear range with a brace of new models. The WILD WOOD is a winter trekking boot with high-cut uppers and good support, while the CROSSHIKE MID hiking shoe is the ankle-high, waterproof version of last summer’s success story.

WILD WOOD
The brand’s range of waterproof winter boots incorporating the BIGFOOT sole now encompasses three models offering varying degrees of warmth. In addition to the two models, designed for extremely low temperatures, the line is rounded off nicely with the launch of the new WILD WOOD, a boot that is conceived for use in more moderate winter conditions. The THERMOLITE 200 insulation delivers effective thermal protection for winter outdoor activities, while a waterproof, bootie-style TEXAPORE O2 membrane provides breathable weatherproofing performance. The high, snug-fit uppers consist of synthetic nubuck leather teamed with waterproof coated mesh fabric.

CROSSLIKE MID
The “Canadian style” BIGFOOT sole is a waterproof winter sole with a multi-layer construction. The shell is made of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) and not only gives the boots its characteristic style but also provides a totally waterproof, hermetically sealed lower boot unit. TPU is highly resistant to mechanical abrasion and is not prone to ‘cold cracking’, even in extremely low temperatures. An EVA midsole and a removable inlay sole provide comfort and cushioning. The outsole is constructed from a cold resistant rubber compound and features a sure-grip tread. The shape and configuration of the individual tread blocks are designed specifically for good traction on snow and ice. On slippery terrain, the sole bites hard, while snow is expelled from the tread by the roll-off movement of the foot. The 6mm deep tread profile also promises excellent durability.

The new, mid-cut CROSSHIKE MID hiking shoe completes JACK WOLFSKIN’s line of lightweight and flexible hiking footwear incorporating the TRAILLOCK sole. Weather protection and wearer comfort are provided by the combination of water repellent treated velour leather and mesh, a high-breathability TEXAPORE O3 membrane and an X-STATIC lining that incorporates silver threads. The advantages for winter use are clear: the antibacterial lining delivers a balanced internal microclimate and minimised the formation of unpleasant odours, while the breathable TEXPAPORE O3 membrane renders the shoe reliably waterproof.
