There are three main streams of men’s fashion for the spring and summer of the year 2007. The GDS specialists have defined them as “Cool men – between casual and business”, “Men’s adventure” - the colonial style and last but not least is the “Maritime theme”. Have a look and choose, which one of these styles, will be just right for you.

COOL MEN

Between casual and Business
The look has become cleaner and clearer, materials lighter, often pre-washed; the colour impression is harmonious and bright. Everything strident has gone. There’s a good deal of white, off-white and grey tones and also blue-grey to dark blue. Alongside this are natural colours, from bright sand tones to earthy shades. Accompanying light, preferably unlined jackets, polonecks or fine-wool pullovers often replace the shirt.

Shoes
The tendency to lightness and softness is also a theme for shoes. Examples of this are flexible loafers and slip-ons in bright and off-white colours, or models made of washed leathers with discreet vintage visuals. Combinations with croc embossing or linen give city classic a fashion up-lift. College shoes and neat moccasins are seen as all-rounders for City and casual wear. Natural and brown tones are dominant, with black and the occasional white and blue tones.

MEN’S ADVENTURE
The sporty accent of the summer men’s fashions moves between safari and yachting. Bright natural tones and earthy colours define the colonial-inspired themes, which emanate a mood of adventure. The maritime theme with polonecks, ringlets designs and bermudas is dominated by a good deal of white to accompany fresh tones and sparingly used accent colours. White or dark washed jeans, above and beyond the theme, are also part of the picture.

Shoes
Moccasins and docksider types, chucks and gym shoe varieties match both directions, augmented in summer by sandals, pantolettes and flip-flops. One range comes in bright natural to brown tones; the palette of clean, maritime colours prevails in the other. Canvas or linen combined with washed, shagreened or embossed leather in brown tones represents a close-to-nature look, which also leaves room for handcraft-type details.
