Brazilian companies will participate at the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) due to be held from 1 – 3 September. This fair brings together exhibitors of high quality hides and leathers, components, supplies as well as shoe and tannery machinery.
As the manufacturer of 61% of global footwear output, China continues to increase its position as a major importer of Brazilian supplies and components. Brazil’s participation in this important event is coordinated by Footwear Components by Brasil, label of Assintecal - Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Devices with the support of the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency (APEX). The companies SETA from Estancia Velha and Tanac from Montenegro will exhibit at ACLE and will show new products for the tannery sector. In the opinion of Paulo Costa, commercial supervisor of the leather product line of Tanac, ACLE is both a reference and a showcase for companies active in the sector. Tanac will present Softannin, a natural polymer for tannery operations. This product comes from black acacia or vegetable tannin which adds extra softness to the finished leather. “We are optimistic and have high expectations of doing good business. Asia is a market which continues to be active,” he added. SETA will exhibit new products for the retanning of soft leathers which will complement the line of the SETASYNN synthetic agents. SETA will also take leathers developed in Brazil to China as an example of the products already recognized from the vegetable extract SETAAMOSA and SETYACHEM lines. “We are going to present our products so that clients can visualize and confirm their advantages in the finished item,” affirmed Alexandre Almeida, SETA’s commercial manager. For the three days during which ACLE will take place the Brazilian sector expects to do business worth around US$500 thousand and this will increase to around US$5 million over the next 12 months as a result of the fair. Chinese market – According to Assintecal’s international market information, the Brazilian products which are causing most interest for Chinese industry are tannin and mimosa extracts for vegetable leather tanning. Between 2007 and 2009 these products enjoyed a 34% increase in value to China making Brazil that country’s second largest supplier. ACLE was the first event developed for the supplies and components sector in China and is currently the most international for the sector in that country. ACLE usually receives around 14,000 visitors and boasts some 900 exhibitors from the main supply nations such as Germany, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, China, Singapore, Korea, Egypt, Spain, Ethiopia, USA, France, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, New Zealand, Netherlands, Pakistan, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Russia, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and Uruguay.
