During ModAmont, the Brazilian companies have the opportunity to compete with operators from all the major markets for the footwear sector, like Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, Spain and Belgium, as well as France itself. Assintecal estimates that in September edition the participation in ModAmont has helped the companies to conclude agreements for 90,000 US dollars, generating a turnover of about 600,000 US dollars on the next 12 months. The figures confirm the positive signs of the sector of components of the Brazilian footwear industry, which is conquering a major role in the international scene. The sector, which now includes about 2500 industries, exports products in over 160 countries, including Latin America (especially Argentina and Peru), Central America (Mexico and Ecuador), North America (United States) and Europe (Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands). In 2010, exports have experienced exceptional growth of 26%, the first eleven months of 2011 reconfirmed the positive trend, with growth of 3.3% compared to the already important data in 2010. These figures certify the appreciation of the Brazilian components by footwear producers from all over the world. "The good results of the components' sector are the result of a long process – explains president Schroeder. We are working on initiatives aimed at increasing the competitiveness of our companies, following a path of sustainable growth. The development model that we have built in recent years has aimed at economic growth that does not forget its responsibility towards the environment and society. This attention to sustainability, which finds concrete application in products, is an important added value for our companies."
