Organised by IFEMA, the fair will stage its 31st edition from 9th to 11th March at Feria de Madrid. Modacalzado+Iberpiel will feature a number of new brands, thus confirming its role as the grand event for the industry in Spain. Firms such as Coolway, Piedeli, Armand Basi, Frida, José Sáenz, Liberitae and Paco Valiente will join other leading names that habitually take part at the fair, such as Pons Quintana, Pura López, Sacha London, Magrit, Desigual, Hispanitas, Callaghan, Kangaroos, Xti, Mtng and Victoria, among others.
The fair has already attracted some 90% of the total number of pre-registered visitors recorded at the last edition, which is well above the figure witnessed at this time last year. One of the new features at the next edition consists of the creation of an area featuring small-sized stands offered at especially low rates. As another new feature, the exhibitors who take part at the March edition will feature an additional 5% discount at the September edition. Madrid, 13th February 2013 - Modacalzado+Iberpiel, the Footwear and Leather Goods International Fair, is making the final preparations for its forthcoming edition, which is due to take place from 9th to 11th March at Feria de Madrid. With little more than a month to go before the fair opens, the leading Spanish footwear and leather goods brands and a selection of important international firms have confirmed their participation at this fair, which is organised by IFEMA in collaboration with the Spanish Footwear Industries Federation (FICE) and the Spanish Association of Leather Good, Travel Item and Accessory Manufacturers (ASEFMA). Among the Spanish companies that are loyal participants at this fair, we might highlight names such as Pons Quintana, Sacha London, Pedro Miralles, Magrit, Florencia Marco, Victoria, Xti, Callaghan, Mustang, Vulky, Garvalin, Mayoral, Gioseppo and Hispanitas, all of which have once again placed their trust in this event. At this edition they will present their new collections and latest products for the Autumn/Winter 2013-14 Season. Alongside these brands, international names of the stature of Mephisto, Nero Giardini, Robert Clergerie and Felmini, among others, will once again be present at Modacalzado+Iberpiel. Under the heading of new exhibitors, we might mention firms such as the footwear and accessories brand, Coolway (Valencia), Armand Basi (Barcelona), José Sáenz (La Rioja), Paco Valiente (Albacete) and Rayfra and Liberitae (Alicante), among others. A Larger Number of Visitors and Buyers As far as buyers are concerned, the thirty-first edition of Modacalzado+Iberpiel presents some excellent prospects, based on the pre-registration figure recorded via the Internet. As of today, and with still a month to go before the staging of the forthcoming edition of the fair, the visitor and buyer figure has reached 90% of the total figure recorded at the edition in March 2012, which is well above the figure witnessed this time last year. These results very much reflect the efforts that the marketing managers of Modacalzado+Iberpiel have made in terms of boosting the fair's Spanish and Foreign Buyers Programme. Within the domestic sphere, the Programme includes buyers from all of the Spanish regions, whilst the Foreign Buyers Programme mainly focuses on the leading consumers of Spanish footwear, which is to say, France, Italy, Portugal, the countries of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. New Advantages for Exhibitors As a new development at this edition, the fair has created a new area featuring small-sized stands measuring 9 square metres, aimed at companies that offer small collections or that wish to take part at the fair with as little financial outlay as possible. Furthermore, the companies taking part at the forthcoming edition of Modacalzado+Iberpiel will enjoy an additional 5% discount on the rates for the subsequent edition of the fair in September 2013. The Ideaslab Area: A Meeting-Point for Trade and Innovation Organised to complement the trade exhibition itself, MODACALZADO+IBERPIEL will once again feature a comprehensive range of coinciding activities at its March 2013 edition. Among these, we might mention the IdeasLab Area, which will be based on an extensive programme of conferences aimed at members of the trade, focusing in particular on the opportunities offered by the social media and the Internet, the latest trends on the international market and technological innovation under the heading of sales techniques. This section of the fair will also feature the sustainable fashion forum known as ,Slow Fashion Spain, which will present the main criteria and principles being implemented by eco-friendly footwear. Participants will also be offered an insight into the latest trend forecasts by Worth Global Style Network (WGSN), which will present the footwear styles that are likely to grace the shelves next season. At this edition, Modacalzado+Iberpiel will take place between Saturday and Monday, from 9.30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. over its first two days, and from 9.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on its last day. This edition will be the last occasion on which the fair is to be staged on its own before its joint staging with SIMM, the Madrid International Fashion Fair, from 6th to 8th September, forming part of a new project under the umbrella brand of MOMAD - Fashion Events in Madrid. With this initiative, IFEMA seeks to make these fairs more competitive and more attractive to buyers and companies from both Spain and abroad, within the context of a new economic outlook worldwide. One of the main factors that has led IFEMA to set up this joint initiative for the next few years consists of the growing tendency for shops to present clothing items and footwear within the same establishment, thus offering what is known as a total look. The new umbrella brand, MOMAD, Fashion Events in Madrid, will also encompass other fairs organised by IFEMA that have a strong fashion dimension, including ETIQUETA NEGRA and LAS MIL Y UNA BODAS.
