The first edition of this trade show will be taking place from 5 to 7 March at Feria de Madrid and will welcome a broad array of representatives from Spain's footwear industry. Madrid, October 2015- MOMAD Shoes, the International Footwear and Accessories Trade Show, will be kicking off with its first edition from 5 to 7 March at Feria de Madrid.
Once again Ifema will provide the footwear sector with its very own spot on the Madrid events calendar. Right from the very first edition, this new show, which has been commissioned with the support of the industry, aims to become a major meeting point for Spain's footwear and accessories brands and specialised retailers. This new event foresees the participation of 400 footwear and handbag brands and manufacturers, and is expected to attract a significant number of national and international buyers from over 70 different countries. MOMAD Shoes represents the first trade show dedicated exclusively to footwear by holding its first ever separate edition from the multi-sector Momad Metrópolis show, where footwear had coexisted with textiles and accessories since September 2013.
The last MOMAD Metrópolis event took place in September 2015 and saw a 60% increase in the floor space devoted to footwear as compared to the previous season. Fashion shows renamed
The creation of this new show has given rise to a name change in the fashion fairs organised by Ifema. From now on, MOMAD will be used as the umbrella brand for all of Ifema's fashion shows, with the textile and accessories show now being known as MOMAD Metrópolis and the title MOMAD Shoes covering the International Footwear and Accessories show. Yesterday was the first day for businesses to book a space at the first edition of MOMAD Shoes, with a show presentation tour scheduled to take place next week, during which the management team will visit Spain's different footwear manufacturing areas. Therefore, manufacturers and brands from the Valencian Community are invited to a presentation of the show on 27 October that has been organised in conjunction with AVECAL (the Association of Footwear Manufacturers of the Valencian Community), which will be followed by subsequent presentations of MOMAD Shoes over the weeks to come in other footwear producing areas all over Spain, such as Arnedo (La Rioja), Fuensalida and Almansa (Castile-La Mancha) and Menorca (in the Balearic Islands). Marketing has also begun for MOMAD Metrópolis, the International Textile and Accessories Show, which will be taking place from 5 to 7 February next year at Feria de Madrid. About MOMAD
