 The international leading trade fair of the leather goods industry I.L.M remains on course for further success. The 145th performance of the I.L.M in Offenbach that takes place on September 10 to 12, 2016 is again the platform for about 300 exhibitors from over 20 countries to present their collections of leather goods, travel- and school articles, umbrellas, and fashion accessories for the summer 2017.
The trade event that has been fully booked nonstop in the last few years will experience an enlargement of 500 sqm for this September occasion. The unique chance to rent the grounds of the Offenbach theatre “Capitol” in the direct neighborhood of the fair grounds offers space for another 20 new exhibitors. We are looking forward to fascinating newcomers with their high-quality and lifestyle range of products encompassing bags, travel luggage, and accessories”, describes Arnd Hinrich Kappe, Managing Director of the Messe Offenbach, the exhibits in the new hall “I.L.M Capitol” that is just once and uniquely available for the coming event. Please consider that the ‘Goldkrone Group’ will be a member of the newcomers in the hall that is in close walking distance. An extensive frame program: Shows, Design & Awards Starting off to an ample frame program with the I.L.M Summer Styles 2016. The popular fashion shows have undergone a relaunch, meaning more fashionable, more pointed and in a new setting and choreography to put the product in the focus. A precise coordination of outfit and accessory will be a valuable support for the trade when it comes to the process of ordering. We will further stick to the segmentation of the shows in ‘bags’ and ‘travel luggage’ that we have started at the last event and that has been very positively accepted by the visitors and exhibitors. On each fair day we have a runway of four shows presenting the future trends. On top, discourses covering the topic and Fashion Points treating the trends of the season Spring/Summer 2017 complete the program. The Fashion Forecast Autumn/Winter 2017_18 allows to all the creatives a first look at the trends of the next but one season. This Forecast can be attended on Saturday, Sept. 10, 5 p.m. I.L.M goes Design! Premiere in September is a Design-Project of the HfG (Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach) – Design Academy Offenbach (http://www.hfg-offenbach.de). The entrance area of the I.L.M presents two exhibits of the HfG with parameterized leather structure as a result of a research project of the BMW Group and another one of fish leather. We promise some extraordinary, creative impulses. On Sunday, September 11, the I.L.M AWARD 2016 for outstanding products is presented as of 6 p.m. Prizes are awarded for the best items in the categories „BEST IN FASHION“, „BEST IN BASICS“ and „BEST NEWCOMER“. By now numerous applications have been presented to the jury of experts. Some 6.000 trade visitors from over 50 countries are expected at the I.L.M Summer Styles 2016. “ We see an enormous increase of buyers from the textile- and footwear industry”, says Arnd Hinrich Kappe. “The I.L.M is unique.
