Assocalzaturifici takes theMICAM to Vietnam, Australia and China |

Italian shoes, an unrivalled icon of fashion, style and elegance, go to Vietnam, Australia and China. Ho Chi Minh, the financial capital of Vietnam, is the first stop on Assocalzaturifici’s promotional road show starting on March 10. The goal is to introduce the trade to the eighty-fourth edition of theMICAM, the international footwear show coming up at Fiera Milano (Rho) September 17 through 20 2017, scheduled to coincide with Fashion Week for the first time this year.
International promotion of the event, organised by holding preview teaser events, is one of the strategic goals Assocalzaturifici is pursuing in collaboration with ITA to strengthen theMICAM's international image and promote the excellence of Italian footwear all over the world. The tour will go on to Sydney (March 13) for the Confindustria mission in Australia, under the Vice Minister of Economic Development, Ivan Scalfarotto, and then to Shanghai (March 16) for La Moda Italiana@CHIC, a show organised by Ente Moda Italia in partnership with Assocalzaturifici promoting Italian fashion, accessories and footwear in China. The Far East and Australia are dynamic markets for Italian footwear exports: taken together, China and Hong Kong represent the fifth biggest market for Italian exports by value. In the first ten months of 2016, Australia also registered growth, with the value of exports to the country up 12.6% over the first ten months of 2015.
“The theMICAM teasers," explains Assocalzaturifici chair Annarita Pilotti, "are made possible by the support offered through a special plan for promotion of Italian-made goods implemented by the Ministry of Economic Development and ITA Agency. They offer an opportunity to present theMICAM to international markets of great importance for our member companies.
