High sandals are also eminent, some with small sequins and others with coloured thread inserts.
Light woven straw is also evident, as is soft leather in neutral colours or white, giving a natural touch to footwear, such as slip-ons and rope wedges. Coverings in plastic, rubber and vinyl also feature amongst the most important trends for the season, especially for elegant heeled shoes, adding a modern, yet at the same time, feminine, touch to open or closed toe sandals.

MEN’S TRENDS
At Expo Riva Schuh, we see an elegant man emerge, aware of style and details, lover of all things beautiful, who seeks out well-made footwear, redesigned with contemporary appeal. Street style dominates the male ranges, with new textures, motives and finishes on the upper, for a relaxed, comfortable look, but one that can also wow, with maxi soles. The fabrics are mainly technological solutions using soft, technical fabrics, skilfully worked and used to provide contrast.
Attention increasingly shifts towards items with special, unusual details, whilst still maintaining a modern, minimalist look in which shoes become the defining element of a well-chosen outfit. Square toes and angular lines introduce a decisive geometric look, with colours ranging from warm red and orange to classic brown and dark blue.

CHILDREN’S TRENDS
For Spring/Summer 2019, we once again encounter sneakers, with or without laces, slip-ons and the ubiquitous ballerinas, to be worn for special occasions. Many of the product ranges are inspired by the latest women’s trends, but re-interpreted for little girls, to guarantee comfort, quality and style. Pastel colours dominate and also shiny gold and silver. Glamorous, romantic details prevail in high-soled sneakers and all-white shoes with diamante and glitter inserts in pink, mauve, pale blue and cream – pastel shades and shiny finishes with two-toned reflexes.
Styles for children take a comfortable approach with ideas inspired by the animal kingdom, revisited with a fun, playful touch, which, in the case of little girls, is also combined with coordinating accessories, such as bags and rucksacks. For little boys, we see micro prints, nautical stripes or sporty styles in electric blue, turquoise or green.
Plenty of little sandals abound in open styles with beads, fringes, interweaving and multi-colour textures, but they are not excessive. There are numerous designs with rope soles and embroidered uppers, from lace-ups to mini espadrilles.
