The organisers of APLF fairs announced that in 2020, there will be a change of the layout of the four APLF fairs in Hong Kong. The leather fair will be relocated on to Level 3 and the three fairs now taking place on that Level 3 will move to Level 1.
The rationale behind these moves is that APLF Leather can expand as there is more exhibition space on Level 3. That will offer more prime locations and allow for re-segmentation and re-grouping of products so that buyers can make better use of their time when navigating the fair. Fashion Access, Cashmere World and Materials+ will be located in Hall 1. Sustainability will continue to be the central theme throughout the 4 events established as the Sustainability Sourcing Platform in Asia Pacific, with the aim of attracting more fashion and lifestyle professionals designing and sourcing for the new generation of consumers to attend the 4 fairs and reconnecting them all to the leather supply chain.
Materials+, Fashion Access and APLF Leather
To satisfy the fashion industry’s sustainable sourcing requirements for advanced materials and components, and to listen to the comments from the leather industry on the importance to distinguish further leather from non-leather materials, Materials+ will become a separate fair in 2020, with its own identity, a new logo and image. Meanwhile, Fashion Access will put more focus on sustainable, ethical and wellness products. The logo was also revamped to reflect the change by taking out the weight from the fonts. APLF Leather will remain as it is to reflect its strong position in the Leather Industry. Change in Corporate Structure
UBM Asia, which forms a joint venture with SIC to manage APLF Ltd, now becomes part of Informa Markets. This means APLF will be under the portfolio of Informa Markets with more than 550 international events and brands and more than 4,300 employees in over 30 countries. The Pan African Leather Fair (PALF) to be held in 2020 in Egypt will be the first leather trade event organised by Informa and powered by APLF. (22/05/2019) |
